What does it really take to connect? I’ve been thinking about this a lot. I know it’s not just physical attraction – though that definitely matters. Is it something in someone’s demeanor, how he laughs, how she stands? Does it come from hearing their voice and feeling as if it’s a voice you’d like to hear often? I love when someone finds me humorous, no matter how goofy the humor. Do you like when you can make someone laugh? Send me your thoughts on that one thing that most makes you feel there could be a connection. Last weekend, I hosted our first VerEdates recruitment booth and had the opportunity to chat with many singles who came to meet others, enjoy the music and support the cause of the Sourland Mountain preservation. So many people’s first reaction was, “I am so done with online dating” or “been burned too many times”. Yet when they heard about the difference in VerEdates, the chance to connect by seeing someone on camera, hearing their voice, and knowing they completed a background check, their tones changed. Several registered on their phones right there and we shot their Vprofiles with the beautiful mountain sunset behind them. I watched people sit with their coolers and begin to enjoy each other’s company. I heard more than one person makes plans for a future get together. If only we could replicate that feeling of truly getting to know someone without always being on an in-person date. VerEdates just might be the best way to replicate that feeling.
